Who we are
Orbec is an early-stage mineral-exploration project built around a single conviction: that the Chibougamau–James Bay region of Quebec remains one of the best under-explored addresses for gold in North America. The district sits inside the Abitibi greenstone belt, a geological setting that has produced tens of millions of ounces of gold and remains highly prospective at depth and along strike.
Rather than chase headlines across many jurisdictions, we have assembled a contiguous package of claims — the Muus Project — over a structural corridor that shows the ingredients geologists look for: the right host rocks, deformation zones, alteration, and historical showings of gold and base metals.
Our work is deliberately staged. We begin with compilation and reinterpretation of decades of public and legacy exploration data, validate the most promising areas with ground and airborne surveys, and only then design focused drill programs. This keeps spending aligned with knowledge and reduces the risk of drilling blind.
